Q. Can you convert any car?

A. The answer is yes, for the right amount of money.  But the reality is that small cars with manual transmissions are the simplest. We are working out solutions for larger cars, such as larger ac motors and controllers. so for now. The small cars are the way to go.

Q. should I convert my (insert name of small piece of junk car here)?

A. You can but I would suggest finding a car that you really like... The drive system in an electric car will easily last half a million miles, the batteries 7 to 10 years. Do you still want to be driving that car?

Q. How much will it cost to replace my batteries at that time?

A. We don't know. batteries will be so much better by then, they will cost less and you will go farther. The electric drive doesn't car what kind of batteries it carries.

Q. How complicated are these cars to own and operate.

A. Our conversions don't require any special knowledge. They don't look like a science experiment. All you have to do is remember to plug it in.

Q. What if I don't know how to drive a stick shift?

A. It doesn't matter on the small cars... we only use one gear. There is no clutch, and we remove the stick shift anyway. It's like driving a go cart.

Q. Can I add a generator to my car to get more range?

A. The question is how much range to you really need? I can give you more range is you have a specific range you need, but at some point it's just not practical for a conversion. My car costs me less than 100 bucks a year to drive. If I need to go on a road trip I just rent a car. If we had a very small, efficient, quiet and clean running generator I would say yes, but at this time we don't. If you use some cheap generator running on a lawnmower engine you will be a gross polluter.

Q. can I put solar panels on my car, so I don't need to plug in?

A. Yes! but that only works if you only drive one or two days a month, for a short distance. A car needs enough panels to cover the roof of your garage for normal driving.
